The MN Cup, a program of the Holmes Center for Entrepreneurship at the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota, is the largest statewide startup competition in the country! Since its founding in 2005, it has served over 0,000 entrepreneurs and awarded over $5 million in cash prizes; in addition, MN Cup alumni have raised over $1 billion in capital.
The good news is that applications to compete in this year’s MN Cup are currently open and can be found at this link. The bad news is that they must be submitted by this coming Friday, April 12th. If you haven’t started your submission yet, don’t fret. The initial application is relatively straightforward, primarily focused on a brief executive summary (100 words or less) and the answers to three key questions (in 500 words or less each):
- Describe the Opportunity
- Explain your Plan (business model, team, etc.)
- Identify the progress you have made so far
- It’s free;
- You get access to experienced mentors; and
- There’s a variety of educational programming.
At the risk of sounding like a TV commercial, Act now! Time is running out!
